A nongovernmental organization (NGO), the Iloba Oma-Okoka foundation has called on the government and well-meaning Nigerians to come to the rescue of rural dwellers in the areas of providing quality education.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Kingsley Iloba Okoka gave the advice in Ebu while offsetting the enrollment fees of 10 indigent senior Secondary school Students for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) at the Ebu Grammar School, in Oshimili Noth LGA of Delta State.
Mr. Okoka who frowned at the fact that the school was on the verge of losing the examination center in the school said, he was prompted to give back to society as he benefited so much from the heydays of the school.
Some of the students and their parents who benefited from the gesture thanked the donor for his benevolence and support for Education.
The donor who was accompanied by his friend Mr. Austine Okorodudu, an Ace broadcaster with Trend 100.9fm gave a brief pep talk on the need for the students to be purposeful and Visionary about their future. He challenged them to desist from self destructive habits like drugs, cultism, gangs etc.
Earlier, the Vice principal of the School Mr. Mgbeze Chinedu while welcoming the team to the school, used the opportunity to enumerate the challenges of the school to include, poor infrastructure, lack of teachers in key subject areas amongst others.
The Iloba Oma-Okoka Foundation is a humanitarian organization dedicated to promoting quality education in rural Nigeria.
