Delta state politicians should have some shame. The desperation to hang around the corridors of power is nauseating.
From falling from the Senate with stolen mandate, Chief Ighoyota Amori is comfortable beaming with smile to be engaged as personal assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori with the big-for-nothing title of Chief Adviser.
Amori are you not ashamed of self? The governor is among errand boys you and Ibori groomed as heirs to the helms in the PDP hegemony of misgovernment over Delta since 1999.
So, Amori because of greed, you prepared to reverse the mood of relationship with Oborevwori. You have shamelessly accepted to be errand boy to a man you picked from the trenches to be your man friday.
Don’t you have a child or a younger extended family relative or any of your loyal boys to recommend for Oborevwori to be appointed as personal assistant? So next Sunday you will delightfully match to your church to do thanksgiving as a vague Chief Adviser to the Governor.
I feel deep sense of shame, for you and family members who encourage you to make this much fool of yourself. Can’t your family and clan people advise you? Imagine you and your children’s peers will be working and arguing in the Governor’s office and meetings, as ‘boy boy’ to a man you know when he was born.
Do I even blame you? People have done worse. You were a dismissed Senator. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, became Reps member, led NDDC, led Niger Delta Basin Development Authority and joined the Senate.
From such enviable heights attained, Aguariavwodo couldn’t built enough connections to remain relevant playing at the national stage and helping to bring development to Delta.
Retired home wretched and forgotten, Aguariavwodo has confined self to struggling with people young enough to be his children to snatch role of briefcase carriers for every Governor in power as PA, SA or SSA. What shamelessness.
Like Aguariavwodo, like Amori, there are several others desperate to take any humiliation to demeaning board chairmanship or membership to hang around the corridors of power.
Must you be in government at all cost? Since 1999, you (Amori) and other old brigade have not stopped parading one Delta government office to another. I urge you ‘overspent class’ of ’99 of Urhobo politicians to quit all these briefcase carrier jobs for the younger generation. What happened to the time tested maxim quote, ‘quit the stage when ovation is loudest’
For Governor Oborevwori, please go for younger minds, under 60 to work with you. The likes of Ighoyota Amori, Aguariavwodo and co have no value to add to your administration. They are, at best, distractions that dent your government.
Oborevwori, you need younger people with modern and positive ideas to add value to your administration. Stop giving appointment attentions to pleasing these Urhobo ancestors that are overspent and should be at home, sitting among their community indegenes as members of ‘Edion’-In-Council.
We know the real interest is to satisfy this ancestors inclination to live only on government patronage and nothing more. Since 1999 they have been hopping from one govt office to another. Can’t they have a life outside government?
Ighoyota Amori has no value to add to your administration, other than escalating wastage.
