Members of Jesse Elites’ Forum Nigeria, Asaba Branch, have elected a seasoned technocrat and Deputy Director of Education in Delta State Civil Service, Mr. Innocent Obukadata Asoro, as Chairman to pilot the affairs of the forum for the next three years.
Mr. Asoro who is a Director, General Education at Delta State Technical and Vocational Education Board, was elected during an extraordinary meeting/bye-election to fill the chairmanship position of the forum following the resignation of the immediate past Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Matthew Emasogbe, held in Asaba, yesterday.
The election of Jesse Elite’s Forum Chairman and serving ex-executive member of Erhuvwu Social Club of Nigeria was a sequel to a motion moved by Comrade Salvation Ogono and seconded by Mr. Andy Onojaife and was unanimously adopted by the house.
Other serving executive committee members inherited by the Chairman, Mr. Asoro, include Mrs. Enoh Onomuodeke (Vice Chairman); Mr. Lucky Oyibo (Secretary); Mr. Daniel Okpughwu (Treasurer); Mr. Israel Otitigbe (Auditor); and Comrade Salvation Ogono (Provost).
Addressing the forum during his acceptance speech, Mr. Asoro pledged to build a formidable forum where every son and daughter of the Idjerhe Kingdom living in Asaba and its environs would see the forum as a home away from home.
The chairman noted with nostalgia the quest for the infrastructural and socio-economic development of Idjerhe Kingdom and enjoined members of the forum working in federal and state government public and private sectors to remain good ambassadors of their community in the service of their stewardships to their fatherland.
He appealed to his kinsmen to promote the activities of the Elites’ Forum harboring Asaba Branch ICDU, under the Idjerhe Clan Development Union – a pan-social cultural organization of Idjerhe people having Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Obukohwo Monday Arthur Whiskey, JP, Ph.D. (Udurhie 1) as its grand patron.
