A retired Nurse in Delta State, Mrs. Patricia Adaeze Ideh, has identified quality , standard and integrity as the bedrock of discipline among humanity in any society.
Mrs. Ideh stated this during the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Marymount College, Agbor , Ika South Local Government Area.
Speaking after receiving a posthumous award in honour of her sister, Late Mrs Marie Goretti Adaobi Asoya , she stated that awards were gift and presentation given to someone special who must have displayed and discharged action and activities satisfactorily for such a gesture to be presented and given him or her.
Mrs. Ideh said that late Mrs M.G.A. Asoya was a very brilliant child, adding that she was always coming out tops in her primary and secondary school days.
She noted that the awardee was also very committed to education, leadership and service to humanity leaving behind profound impact on her community and those whose lives she touched in one way or the other.
She said that Marymount College, Agbor had always placed her students on a very high standard as a result of the presence of the caliber of people and missionaries in Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) order .
Mrs. Ideh said that Late Mrs. Asoya was a student with the OLA sisters after her primary school, stressing that she was sent to do her secondary school in Marymount College before proceeding to College of Education for further studies and later came back to teach History, Literature and English in the same Marymount College.
She stated that everyone who was taught by the awardee hardly failed her subjects as a result of her practical demonstrations while teaching and added that she was also a games mistress and was very active in almost every area in the school activities.
According to her , the awardee was a strict disciplinarian that made parents to have so much trust whenever they handed over their children to her , explaining her life was marked by a commitment to education, leadership and service to humanity.
Late Mrs. Marie-Goretti Adaobi Asoya was born on the 9th August in the year 1943 in Utchi-Umuochi, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta state Nigeria to late Chief Adinmali Onua of Utchi and Mrs Obiakwu (nee Emezine) of Umueze-Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state.
Those on ground that collect her posthumous award were her younger sister Mrs Patricia Adaeze Ideh, her children including Engr. Michael Onoiche Asoya and Wife and Chukwudi Asoya.
