The Executive Chairman, Ndokwa West LGA, Chief Goddey Obi-Nzete has declared that he has a dream of a new Ndokwa West LGA, where efficiency, accountability and good governance are instituted for the benefit of the people.
Nzete made the declaration when National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Ndokwa West LGA chapter paid a visit to him at his country home, Utagba-Uno.
Nzete said his dream and mission in the council was to lay the foundation for good governance even as he urged the local government employees to cooperate with his administration to succeed for the good of all.
“Year 2021 has come and gone but we thank God for his grace and protection. I have a dream of coming to the council. I am appealing to you to have a change of attitude to work. You must be punctual and show dedication to duties. Let me also assure you that the 2022 will be good year for all. Your welfare will be taking care of adequately.”
The chairman however charged workers to work in unity and cooperate with the NULGE executive to enable them achieve set goals.
Earlier on his part, Comrade Ikechukwu Opone, NULGE chairman who led the deligation, commended Chief Nzete for his commitments toward institutionalising good governance in council.
“The ongoing perimeter fencing of our secretariat is a pride of the workers and the entire LGA. It is a great achievement for chairman to embark on the fencing of our secretariat this is because the secretariat is the image of the entire LGA.”
Continuing; “Today, the chairman has furnished NULGE building and other departments in the council. We are here to thank you and to express our complete loyalty to your human oriented administration.”
Opone appealed to the Chairman help in the welfare of the workers saying; “Ndokwa West NULGE have no serviceable vehicle. We are appealing to you to help us with a vehicle. I also want to thank you for your Christmas package to the workers.”
The highlights of the visit was rendition of songs of praise to the dancing and admiration of all.
