Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that he is not, and will never be surprised over governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s excellent performance in office, having known his capabilities for decades.
He made the disclosure on Saturday while speaking as guest on Rize FM Radio Warri, via phone, saying that he became associated with the governor over four decades ago and counting.
Dr Oghenesivbe noted that governor Oborevwori had always maintained a classy lifestyle and high standards in all spheres of life, which, according to him, is now resonating in the quality of projects, both completed and ongoing throughout the three senatorial districts in the state.
The Bureau Chief further stated that he had to work long hours projecting the ‘Sheriff Brand” for Governor in 2022/2023 because of his personal conviction that Oborevwori would make Delta proud in all sectors of the state economy, adding that the numerous national Awards bestowed on the governor in recent times clearly attest to the fact that his infrastructural projects are of high quality and unique standard.
On the issue of peace and security, Dr Oghenesivbe said governor Oborevwori has consistently ensured that the state government provided logistics in terms of operational vehicles and equipment to security agencies, and that the governor recently distributed over 40 Hilux Van to the State Police Command, and other security agencies, including the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, to boost surveillance, quick response and effective policing in the state.
He assured that the state government will continue to provide logistics for the enhancement of peace and security in the three senatorial districts, noting that Delta is one of the most peaceful states, and the fourth largest economy in Nigeria, due to result oriented economic remodelling policies and programmes of Oborewvori administration as enshrined in the MORE Agenda.
“I am not surprised at all over the enviable performance of my leader and Boss, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori. I have known him for more than four decades and counting.
“His core principles are anchored on integrity, equity, justice, and high ethical standards, especially in the area of service to humanity.
“These principles which are integral part of visionary leadership clearly resonates in the governor’s dynamic work ethics, accountability, prudent management of state resources, quality and high standards in projects monitoring, inspection and delivery.
“I spent long hours working round the clock, projecting the “SHERIFF BRAND” for governor in 2022/2023 because I know that he was and still the right man for the job. He’s on duty for the advancement of Delta State till May 29, 2031, by the grace of God.
“Today, I am one of the happiest people in the world, because the governor has been able to sagaciously and pragmatically surprised his detractors, and clearly justified the mandate given to him by the good people of Delta.
“The governor’s scorecard is colorful and loaded, which is why Deltans shall overwhelmingly reelect him for second tenure in 2027.
“Oborevwori’s detractors are surprised and speechless over his monumental achievements, not me. I knew from the outset that Delta shall be great again under Oborevwori’s tenure and leadership,” Oghenesivbe said.
