Prof. Ogaga Okuyade, current Dean of Arts, Niger Delta University (NDU) was trapped in his somersaulted car, while trying to escape from kidnappers who were trying to abduct him along the Eku-Sanubi Road in Ethiope-East LGA of Delta State. But his abductors were properly repelled and thereafter chased away by the Escort of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru,who later rushed him to hospital for medical cares.
According to source, “He was rescued by Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru convoy. Chief Ogboru who was said to have missed his trip abroad hence he returned home,met the man in that helpless situation and decided to lend a helping hand. It was on his way back to Abraka that his convoy ran into the incident. He and his team quickly rescued the professor and turned the vehicle up, having been upside down. The kidnappers bolted away on sighting the mobile policemen.”
