The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has knocked Governor-elect, Abba Yusuf, saying his leadership doesn’t have a sense of direction.
OUR REPORTER reports that the governor has clashed with the governor-elect over his recent public advisories over issues before his inauguration.
It would be recalled that Yusuf issued two advisories last week under Ganduje’s government, a development that attracted criticisms from the incumbent governor who stated he remains in charge till May 29.
However, in a fresh attack, the governor said Yusuf wants to start on a wrong footing with all that he is doing.
Ganduje told pressmen after a prayer organised for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, at Government House in Kano that it is evidence Yusuf’s leadership lacks a sense of direction.
The incumbent governor, who prayed for his state, said Yusuf was talking as if he is now the governor of Kano State already.
Ganduje, who prayed he governs the state well with such an attitude, also pointed out that for somebody to start making such speeches, one can judge he is starting with the wrong footing.
He said, “It is a practical indication and a practical symbol that their leadership has no sense of direction because that kind of advisory is baseless.”
Recall that Yusuf who contested on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) defeated the deputy governor, Nasir Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the governorship poll on March 18.
Gawuna initially rejected Yusuf’s victory, but he later made a U-turn and asked his followers to accept Yusuf.
