Notable group known as the group, South-South Professional & Transparency Initiatives (SSPTI), has applauded the immediate past Principal/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Dr. Henry Adebowale Adimula, for his remarkable efforts in uplifting the educational standards of the institution while in office.
Located in Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, the institution’s achievements and impacts have been highly commendable under the tenure of Dr. Adimula.
The body who had been at the forefront for the campaign for transparency and accountability in public institutions across the Niger Delta region, said its decision to commend Dr. Henry Adimula, for the managerial and administrative competence he brought to bear while at the helms of affairs was taken after the conclusion of an independent findings.
Making its score card on Dr. Adimula, known in statement signed by Dr. Ugochukwu Alozie and Engr. Kayode Ayomide, Chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively, SSPTI, noted that the institution had witnessed strategic educational transformation within the three (3) years of Dr. Adimula’s administration, adding that his contributions remain unprecedented.
According to the statement; “Our findings revealed that some of Dr. Henry Adimula’s major achievements which are verifiable include; the commissioning, equipping and take off training at the PTI Fire Academy and the establishment of the PTI Skill Development Academy and Entrepreneurship center.
“The Inauguration of Mechatronics engineering; Natural gas processing; computer engineering programs, with special focus on developing software that could enhance proficiency in the oil and gas sector, in addition to the Installation and commissioning of glass blowing workshop”.
Others according to the statement include; “Modular refinery for training, research and development, Renovation of PTI lecture theatre and the hosting of International Conference of Hydrocarbon Science and Technology in Abuja, where all the major players of the industry were brought together to exchange ideas”.
Continuing; “PTI/JFD to offer international certification in dive medic technician training, Train/onboarding of NLNG technical staff thus saving the country huge forex that would have been incurred if training done outside the country”.
“In the area of collaborations with critical stakeholders, PTI/OPTS to enhance training curriculum and also that of the PTI/NCDMB that was aimed at deepening local content in the Nigerian oil and gas industry”.
“Our findings also revealed some major ongoing projects which included; Working with the African Petroleum Producers Organization to designate PTI as regional centre of excellence, which is intended to making the institution more accessible and reckoned with as the best”.
“On the greater visibility for the Institute; it has foster closer PTI-Industry partnership, Developing National Occupational Standards for skills in the Petroleum sector (PTI/NBTE/NCDMB/OGTAN). In addition to its; Dive Center of Excellence and Corporate Social Responsibility, particularly in the training and empowerment of locals in various skills”.
The body has therefore urged those who had embarked on a campaign of calumny to tanish the good reputation of Dr. Henry Adimula, to desist, noting that the record of his achievements clearly attest to his results oriented disposition.
While making it categorically clear that the immediate past Principal left office honorably having served out his tenure meritoriously, the body said posterity would always be kind to him when the records of his good works and remarkable accomplishments were reeled out wherever he goes in the future.
