Delta State Government has said it will continue to do all within its power in ensuring the Stronger Delta vision for the State and also continuing in its development efforts in order to address the needs of the people.
The Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro stated this yesterday during a thanksgiving service held in honour of the Hon. Commissioner For Special Duties, Government House, Hon. Henry Sakpra at the Redeemed Christian Church, Maranatha Zone, Orhuwhorun, Udu Local Government Area, Delta State.
Barr. Otuaro, who led a high powered delegation of top government functionaries to grace the occasion expressed thanks to the church for the fervent prayers of intervention towards the unity and development of the State.
According to him; “The development of the State in terms of infrastructure, education, health as well as others, including the relative peace and harmony would not have been possible without the constant prayers from men of God in the State”.
The state deputy governor noted that the Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration with continue to appreciate the goodness of God. “God admonishes us to always appreciate Him in all things. So, this administration will at all time continue to appreciate God in all that He is doing and will continue to do for us as a people and as a State”. Barr. Otuaro Stated.
The Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties Government House, Hon. Henry Sakpra in his remark expressed thanks to God for the unique things he his doing for him and his family as well as the State.
Hon. Sakpra noted that the thankgiving service is in appreciation to God for the success recorded in the last general elections in the State. He also use the occasion to thank the state governor for finding him worthy to serve in his cabinet.
Earlier, the Delta Region 23 Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor, Sunday Akande, in a sermon captioned; ‘Agents Of Victory’, admonished leaders to see themselves as agents of victory and use their position to effect positive change in the lives of the people.
According to him, God has a plan and mandate for everyone. He noted that, as children of God, the position one occupies today is due to the favour from God and such position should use to transform the society.
“Whatever position you find yourself today, God place you in that position for a particular purpose. You are there for a divine mandate. You were not the best, so you must acknowledge the favour of God to fulfill that purpose”. Pastor Akande stated.
The man of God who commended the state governor for the development strive in thus far prayed for God’s blessing upon the State. “I see God doing something new in Delta, I see God glorifying the State for greater development”. He said.
He admonish leaders of the need to be courageous enough in handling their affairs in order to succeed in the task ahead.
