Delta State Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro has stated that the Gov Ifeanyi Okowa led administration was determined to deepen the level of development already recorded to all parts of the state in line with the stronger Delta vision.
Deacon Otuaro made the statement today when he paid a visit to a Peoples Democratic Party (PDD) Chieftain, Chief John Oguma to celebrate the New Year with him at his country home in Ovwor-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State.
The Deputy Governor who disclosed that the visit was to celebrate the new year with Chief John Oguma, stressed that the Gov Okowa led adminstration would continue to work tirelessly to enthrone posterity to all Deltans through well developed policies and programmes.
He noted that Chief John Oguma who is the Chairman of Obakpor Engineering Limited had contributed to the development of Delta State through quality road projects and the progress of the PDP.
Deacon Otuaro expressed the hope that the partnership between Chief Oguma, his company and the State Government would be further deepened to create new frontiers and urged him to continue his support to the Okowa administration.
The Deputy Governor commended Chief Oguma for his efforts in the construction of the twenty two point five (22.5) kilometres Obotobo 1,2,3 and the Yokri road projects in Ogulagha Kingdom saying it was not a small feat to achieve judging from the difficult terrain.
He noted that the movement of materials, equipments and personnel to Ogulagha Kingdom which is in the Atlantic Ocean was not an easy task but Chief John Oguma’s firm Obakpor Engineering delivered quality project to the State Government and the community.
Deacon Otuaro said he was amazed by the reception accorded him by Chief John Oguma saying it was supposed to be a private visit and thanked him for his support to Government.
The Delta State Deputy Governor advocated the use of local contractors to empower grassroots.
For his part, the Chairman of Obakpor Engineering Limited, Chief John Oguma commended the Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro for the visit to felicitate with him on the new year.
He recalled the process of the construction of the 22.5 kilometres Obotobo I,2,3 and Yokri road projects in Ogulagha Kingdom in-spite of the difficult terrain saying he would continue to deliver quality road projects not for monetary gains.
Chief Oguma disclosed that his company does not have any expatriate working with him but purely local content and promised to continue his support to the Okowa administration and the People’s Democratic Party at all times.
He commended the State Government for construction of the Ovwor – Effurun Otor bridge.
Present during the visit include the member representing Warri South West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Emomotimi Guwor, the Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, the Chairman of Ughelli South Council, Honourable Richard Kofi, some PDP Chairmen from Delta Central among others .
