A royal-like burial befitting of a princess father, Chief Hon. Ezinna John Kachikwu was put together by Barrister Kidochukwu Thelma Kachikwu and her siblings in honour of their late father.
The whole of Onicha-Ugbo was agog while the late astute administrator was finally laid to rest on Friday, April 26, at Ikoko, Aniocha North Local Government area of Delta State.
The classy event paraded high traditional chiefs, NULGE, political icons, government officials, business moguls, academias, Old Students of Girls Model School Evwreni, University of Benin Law Faculty Alumni, FRSC Special Marshall, family and friends and a host of other personalities across the nation who came to bid farewell to the late Chief Ezinna John Kachikwu . The Iya Ego Chiefs were also not left out.
Speaking, the University of Benin trained lawyer and CEO of K&Asher’s Kitchen expressed her profound gratitude to the people of the kingdom who stood by them and gave them their support.
She said, “words are not enough to express my gratitude to the people for standing by us financially, morally and spiritually in giving our late father this befitting burial he deserved.
“Our late father has proved himself a nobleman and God-fearing fellow. We will forever miss his words of inspiration and encouragement.”
Paying tributes to the late retired former sole administrator, a renowned Chartered Account in Delta State Civil Service and closed family allie, Mr. Emoevwobue Ufuoma Julius, from Agbarho, near Warri, expressed his kindred heart to the exit of his dearest uncle-like friend under whose chains of tutelage he garnered some knowledge and experiences of humanity service that he rose to become a force to reckon with in humanity and profession.
Emoevwobue noted that there was no doubts that the Patriarch of Kachikwu family was a fulfilled man, a rare gem, a devoted christian, a disciplinarian, upright, dependable, easy going and God-fearing personality.
“He was like a father to me. My Mentor’s exit is an unforgettable experience, I cannot but emulate his lifestyle, educational life, Humanitarian activities, working life and his revolutionary effort to the development of Onicha-Ugbo land” – Says Emoevwobue
He added that his uncle-like family friend was a lover of his people, always doing within his power to see that it’s well with everyone around him.
The high level entertainment of guests around the canopies occupied by Chief Julius Ufuoma Emoevwobue, wife, children, family members, colleagues and friends won’t be forgotten in a long time as there was excess to eat and drink.
Meanwhile, the three day-long burial of the late patriarch of the Kachikwu noble family fondly called Diokpa, who died on Friday, February 16 at the age of 81, commenced on Thursday, April 25 with a service of songs and farewell tributes at the deceased residence, Ikoko Quarters, 2nd Avenue Ogbekenu Village in Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
A day, prior to the funeral on Thursday, April 25 was the Christian wake held at the St Andrew Anglican Church Issele-Uku Road Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The popular Anioma musician, Soul Stirring Band was also on ground to thrill and entertain guests.
The late Kachikwu was an administrator, who rose to become Secretary to Local Government and got to the peak of his career as one of the most senior Local Government directors as Head of Personal Management (HPM) then a DPM.
He also served in the Local Government Service Commission and as a one Sole Administrator as well as HPM in Warri South LGA Council.
