Yesterday, the Delta former Gov. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and other notable leaders of the People Democratic Party across the Delta North held an enlarged meeting to caution and curtail the persistent defection that has overtaken the party thereby losing its members to the opposition.
It’s the apolitical media Boyz of the PDP that says, “Nothing Dey happen”, while the likes of Ifeanyi Okowa who is one of the Delta deadliest politicians with a devaluing profile can see the handwritten to the END of PDP in Delta State come 2027.
But trust me, politics must be played, and this has resulted in the early politicking on how to sustain power even when the party seems to have no charger in national politics as it collapses cut across all states of the Federation.
The same Ifeanyi Okowa who dropped the likes of Olorogun David Edevbie as his then Chief of Staff all in the name of it’s too early for politics other than governance while in the middle of his second tenure as governor.
Okowa assembled all members of Gov. Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s cabinet including elected officials and other top appointees from Delta North. He tasked them to be awakened and deployed initiatives to prevent MORE defection of party members.
Ahead of 2027, Okowa has charged all elected and appointees of the PDP to begin an early electioneering campaign using their offices. Oh, MORE looting. 🙆♂️
The unusual has visited the Delta PDP making them run helter-skelter at the infant stage of the Ukodo PDP administration where transparency and accountability to the delivery of democratic dividends through governance ought to be a bone of contention.
It’s interesting how the self-acclaimed National leader is being relegated to Asaba politics, and soon Owa-Alero shall be his comfort zone just as nature destined for every man.
