Bowen University, Iwo Area of Osun State is becoming unsafe for students as some have described the current situation within the institution as worrisome, calling on the school management to urgently arrest the ugly trend that may cause grievous harm to students, especially with the current alleged invasion of the school by reptiles.
The Baptist Christian Nigeria’s first private University in Africa inhabitants, comprising students and unanimous sources, told our reporter that they now live in fear as they don’t know who may likely be casualty concerning the recent discovery of snakes that now besieged the school environments.
According to sources, “We now live in fear over the recent discovery of snakes in the school premises.
“We are living in fear in this school, Snakes are now everywhere and nothing is being done about it. What kind of private university is this? Snakes are being found all around the campus. Please the management should hear our cry. The lives of students are at risk here. The Baptist Christian of Nigeria should please look into this matter.
“We are begging the school management to come to our aid and fumigate everywhere so we can be peaceful. Although management do send persons to cut the grasses but look at it now, they don’t even look like grasses that were weeded. Not only the hostel, but they should also cut the grasses, ” he said.
Meanwhile, a quick check at the University premises shows that the institution needs special attention.
Bowen is one of the oldest private institution of higher education in Nigeria, established in 2001 by the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC). The major foundation of what has become Bowen University today was laid in 1854 and Located in iwo, Osun State.
