Pioneer Director General (D-G) of Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA), Olorogun Stephen Dieseruvwe has instructed his legal team to commence legal action against one Mr Andrew Okurume, an Assistant Director cadre working with the Delta State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Asaba head office.
The Dieseruvwe’s legal action against the Civil Servant was contained in a notice signed by one Omes Ogedegbe, Esq, of OGEDEGBE & OGEDEGBE (Superior Chamber) Legal Practitioners Human Right Activist, House 92 Alegbo / Okoribi Road Effurun, Delta State, on the 8 day of May, 2021.
SPADE NG News reliably gathered that Olorogun Stephen Dieseruvwe is demanding for a retraction and apology from the said Civil Servant, Mr Andrew Okurume, for commenting that he (Dieseruvwe) was removed as D-G of DESTMA as a result of issue he had with Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC).
According to the notice, Dieseruvwe made a post on his Facebook page which opened a floodgate of discussion on internet wherein like others Andrew Okurume made a comment on the post as produced hereto; “Olorogun stop talking about government that is not performing because u were given opportunity to serve but what happened do remember the issue of ICPC that removed u from office”.
OGEDEGBE & OGEDEGBE Legal Practitioners maintained that their client, the pioneer D-G of DESTMA never had issue with the anticorruption Agency, ICPC that led to his removal as alleged by Okurume in his Facebook comment on Dieseruvwe’s post, adding that he occupied as D-G DESTMA was tenured engagement.
The Effurun based Human Right Activist who demanded immediate retraction and apology from the Delta State Civil Servant, said his failure to do so within 48hrs would lead to further action.
The notice stated that “It is against these backdrops that we have our clients firm instructions to demand that you cause a retraction of the offending statement on your Facebook page and same shall be shared in at least 10 Facebook groups within 48 hours of your receipt of this letter as upon your failure to so do we have a secured instruction to institute an action against you without further notice on you”.
In a telephone conversation with Mr Andrew Okurume on his mobile 0703 093 **** to air his position, he said “it was an error I made and I have since apologized to him. Besides, I couldn’t have deliberately make embarrassing statement against him. Olorogun Stephen Dieseruvwe is like s brother to me. I am going to forward my retraction and apology to you through WhatsApp”.
