The Sapele-Benin Road has been shut down at Ologbo due to the failed potions of the road, worsened by heavy downpours.
Mr. Odafe Ogba, a bus driver who plies the route daily, stated that he spent over six hours in the traffic gridlocks along the road.
“I was actually on my way to Lagos with passengers, not knowing that the road at Ologbo haf gone from bad to worse,” he said.
Mr. Oje Frank, another driver who was also going to Lagos, stated that he received a call to avoid the Ologbo axis as vehicles could no longer pass through the failed portions.
“Right now, we are all using an alternative route, through Jesse. Even though it takes three hours , at least, we will still get to our destination,” he said.
Commuters have called on both the federal and state governments to treat the reconstruction of the failed portions at Ologbo as urgent since the road is considered the best route from Warri and Sapele to Benin and beyond.
