The National Leader of the Niger Delta Peace Awareness Movement (NDPAM), Alhaji Awo Destiny Harmony, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to extend the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) across the entire Niger Delta region.

Speaking in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Alhaji Harmony praised PINL for its outstanding track record in safeguarding critical national oil and gas assets through strategic community engagement and robust corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
“PINL has proven itself as a reliable partner in the quest for peace, security, and development,” he stated. “Their proactive engagement with host communities has not only protected vital infrastructure but also fostered unity, trust, and lasting development across the region.”
He applauded the company’s inclusive and transparent operational style, noting its strong collaboration with traditional rulers and community leaders as a benchmark for responsible corporate practice.

“Unlike others, PINL does not use force or division to operate. They embrace dialogue and mutual respect, setting a new standard for corporate-community relations,” Alhaji Harmony emphasized.
He further commended PINL for its social impact initiatives, including the creation of employment opportunities for Niger Delta youth, which has helped to curb crime, as well as the provision of scholarships and access to clean drinking water in underserved communities.
Alhaji Harmony stressed that expanding PINL’s operational coverage would not only enhance the protection of vital infrastructure but also deepen the socio-economic transformation of the Niger Delta.
“Decisions around national security and oil asset protection must be driven by performance and credibility, not sentiment. PINL has consistently demonstrated capacity, reliability, and a deep commitment to community wellbeing,” he said.
He concluded by urging President Tinubu and the NNPCL leadership to take decisive action by entrusting PINL with a broader surveillance mandate across the Niger Delta — a region in need of more effective security and genuine socio-economic upliftment.
“PINL represents a rare blend of service, security, and social impact. This is the kind of partner the Niger Delta and Nigeria need at this critical time,” Alhaji Harmony affirmed.
