A former Acting Military Administrator of Rivers State (MILAD), Chief (Col.) Charles Edemenaha (rtd) is dead at the age of 87.
Mr. Kenneth Edemenaha, senior son of the late MILAD who made this known in a statement, said his father died at Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State after a brief illness.
He stated that the demise of his father had thrown the Okpe kingdom where he served as Secretary to the Udogun Okpe and Okpe Traditional Council of Chiefs into mourning.
According to the statement, the Late Edemenaha served the late Okpe monarch, HRM Orhoro I and the current one, HRM Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in the same capacity as Secretary to Udogun Okpe and Okpe traditional Council of Chiefs.
He described his late father as a pragmatic and visionary leader who served the nation and the Okpe Kingdom faithfully, adding that “his demise is not only a great loss to the Okpe kingdom and Delta State, but to the country in general.”
