Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe on Tuesday June 18, concluded Ward to Ward electioneering campaigns with resounding endorsement by the LGA’s Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, across interdenominational spectrum.
Chairman of Ethiope East CAN, Pastor Linus Enomolele, disclosed that Ogedegbe has been identifying with CAN in multifaceted ways, and had also in time past got deeply involved in uplifting the living standards of indigents, youths and women through his numerous philanthropic gestures and selfless service.
He said Ogedegbe’s humility and integrity cannot be faulted by any right thinking individual who had the privilege of associating with him, assuring that it was pay back time for him and the PDP.
Pastor Enomolele assured that CAN through her five components would mobilize eligible voters within and outside it’s fold to vote PDP and Ogedegbe in the forthcoming council election in Ethiope East, saying that the development of the area and the socioeconomic prosperity of Christians is one of the priority of the Church, next to spiritual growth.
“As a body, CAN has been working closely with Chief Augustine Ogedegbe and PDP. He has done so much for the association, and we are determined to mobilize heavily for the candidate and the party, including the Councillorship candidates.
“Looking around, there is no strong and impactful political party in Ethiope East and by extension, Delta State. We are solidly behind Chief Ogedegbe and PDP.
“CAN will continue to support organisations and institutions that are working for the wellbeing and prosperity of the people. We see that in Ogedegbe and PDP.
“I am privileged and happy to announce to you that CAN in this LGA has adopted Chief Ogedegbe as her Chairmanship candidate, the councillors and PDP. We are trusting God that it shall be landslide victory for them,” Pastor Enomolele assured.
In a similar development, over 300 gallant youths in Ovu communities who hitherto constituted a major setback for the PDP in previous elections defected to PDP, citing Chief Ogedegbe’s landmark achievements in youths and women empowerment as their reason for defecting from three opposition political parties.
The defectors were received by the LGA PDP party Chairman, Hon Felix Erhimedafe and the LGA Party Leader, Chief Bernard Edewor. The duo urged the decampees to feel at home with the party, assuring them that the incoming Council Chairman, Chief Ogedegbe will double efforts to ensure that dividends of democracy is extended to them and the good people of Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Addressing supporters and party faithfuls at the grand finale of the campaign in Ovu, Chief Ogedegbe, an illustrious son of Ovu Community in Agbon Kingdom, thanked the state governor and leader of PDP in the state, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for making Ovu people proud by supporting his candidacy for the Council election.
He appealed to Ovu people across the various communities and the good people of Ethiope East to look beyond the forthcoming council election by working ahead to give their block vote to PDP and governor Oborevwori in 2027
Ogedegbe pointed out that the mega projects so far embarked upon, as well as commissioned projects and many more to be initiated by the governor across the state, clearly attests to the huge benefits of the MORE Agenda. He said governor Oborevwori is truly and passionately fulfilling his electioneering campaigns promises to the good people of Delta State.
The campaign train later anchored at the massive country home of Chief Ogedegbe, in Ovu, Agbon Kingdom where party elders, leaders, stakeholders, supporters and party faithfuls were treated to a lavish entertainment. It was a great moment.
Ogedegbe was on his feet for several hours to ensure that no single individual was left unattended to. He personally served party leaders and stakeholders, displaying his uncommon humility and servant-leader positive traits.

Chief Augustine Ogedegbe shall be presented PDP flag as the party’s Ethiope East Council Chairmanship candidate on Thursday June 20, at the Pavilion, Isiokolo, opposite the Council Secretariat. It promises to be a superlative event.
Ward leaders and Councillorship candidates are expected to mobilize heavily for the political gathering, this is according to the LGA Campaign Council Chairman, Hon Felix Erhimedafe.
