Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice, Erebe Omamuzo promises to support and assist any group or individual in tackling all Gender and human rights related issues in the state.
The Permanent Secretary gave this promise when members of the State Advocacy Team implementing the Covid-19 Response Mechanism, Resilient and Sustainable System for Health and Community System Strengthening (C19RM/RSSH-CSS) visited the ministry to brief them on the activities carried out so far by the group.
Mr Omamuzo said his office is ready to give all the relevant needed support and assistance required by the body to see that gender and human rights issues are amicably resolved.
He noted that the office need collaborations from spirited individuals and groups to assist them in tackling gender inequality, equity, human rights abuses and a whole lots of violations in the society.
He further revealed that it is only through collective efforts from members of the public we can drastically contain these abuses for the survivors sometimes are afraid, timid, threatened, lack the knowledge, political will and finance to muscle their oppressors.
The Permanent Secretary refers the group to the various directors in the department that they would be engaging regularly to meet their desired target of curbing Gender Based Violence and Human Rights issues in the State.
