In line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the enrollment of beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer Program, a National Social Safety Net Project Scale-Up (NASSP-SU), has started across Delta state.
Over 76,020 households are expected to be enrolled in the 25 LGAs of the state to qualify them for the initiative, which aims to bring financial relief to vulnerable citizens of the state.
A statement by the National Program Manager, Dr Micheal Ajuluchuku, indicates that the enrollment targets 67,437 beneficiaries from the National Social Register (NSR) and an additional 8,583 beneficiaries from the Rapid Response Register (RRR).
The enrollment is actively ongoing in all the 25 Local Government Areas and in 214 wards in 1,131 communities across the state, with trained facilitators already in the wards for biometric capturing of beneficiaries.
The State Program Manager, Mrs Patience Osharode, has urged beneficiaries to provide their National Identification Numbers (NIN) during the enrollment process to meet the eligibility criteria for opening bank accounts, in fulfilment of the recent Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directives.
Mrs Osharode advised those who had yet to registered for NIN to do so as all beneficiaries will be paid through their bank accounts.
She said those with existing bank accounts will be paid through their accounts, while new accounts will be opened by the program for those that do not have accounts, to ensure that all beneficiaries are financially included through the program.
Each beneficiary will receive ₦25,000 per circle, for three payment circles, culminating in total financial support of ₦75,000 only.
The State Program Manager explained that the financial assistance was to make a significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, contributing to their well-being and resilience due to the hardship caused by the current economic reforms in the country.
She urged members of the public to visit their communities to enquire if their community is part of the current disclosure and check their names on the disclosure list which is often displayed on a location agreed by the community members for unhindered access and convenience of the members for validation and enrolment.
The office of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer and the local government desk offices can be reached for any complaints or grievances that may arise from individuals during the enrollment process.
Issues can also be resolved through the national toll free line 969 (MTN only) or the state GRM hot line 08023945126, which are displayed in communities.
The enrolment exercise, which began last week, will last for 10 days.
