The chairman , Board of Directors, Delta Broadcasting Service,Asaba Comrade Felix Ofou has charged staff of the media outfit to strive for excellence in the performance of thier official duties.
Comrade Ofou gave the charge while presenting the best staff of the month of January award to Government House correspondent Ejime Udueme.
The DBS,Asaba board chairman reaffirmed the resolve of the board to change the narrative,saying that all efforts would be made to restructure the station in terms of content and service delivery.
He said the board would continue to reward hardworking staff while the indolent ones will be sanctioned.
He challenged all staff to be alive to thier responsibilities as much was required from the government broadcast house.
He described Mr Ejime Udueme,the maiden award recipient as a diligent and outstanding staff who had excelled in all assignments given to him and urged him to work harder saying that the reward for handwork was more work.
The Deputy General Manager in charged of Administration DBS,Asaba Mr Gordy Onokpite said Mr Ejime Udueme is an asset to the establishment coupled with the fact that he met the criteria used for the exercise.
Receiving the award,Mr Ejime Udueme dedicated the award to God and appreciated the chairman and members of the board for the initiative and sued for it’s sustenance.
While pledging to improve on his performance,the award recipcient urged management and staff to continue to work as a team in moving the station to lofty height.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of a certificate of excellence and financial reward to Mr Ejime Udueme.
