The wife of Delta State Governor and Founder of ’05 Initiative’, Dame Edith Okowa has charged well-meaning Nigerians in the Country and beyond to give back to the society by impacting lives positively in their various endeavors.
Dame Okowa stated this during the commissioning of the First Delta American Hospital, in Asaba.
She said the Chief Executive Officer of the First Delta American Hospital, which had affiliations, with the First Lithonia Medical Centre Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Dr. Isioma Okobah, had done what was expected of every well-meaning Nigerian.
She maintained that God expected all relevant stakeholders to impact the lives of others in the society according to the measure by which they they were blessed, as that was what they would be remembered for long after they had left this world.
While applauding Dr. Okobah for the cordial relationship between staff of the hospital and patients, Dame Okowa called on Medical personnel to be kind to patients and make good use of the opportunity to render service to humanity.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, who was the Chairman of the commissioning assured the people that the State Government would continue to encourage well spirited individuals to give back to the society.
The Chief Executive Officer of the hospital and Chairman of the Board of the Delta State Primary Healthcare Agency, Dr. Isioma Okobah expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to render service to humanity in the past two decades.
Also speaking, Mr Christopher Okobah said the hospital was a testament to his wife’s sincere desire for good and affordable healthcare for her fatherland.
The traditional ruler of Onicha-Ugbo, Obi Victor Chukwumalieze and other indigenes lauded the Public spiritedness of the founder of the Hospital.
The highlight of the occasion was the ceremonial cutting of tape and unveiling of the plaque, by Dame Edith Okowa, who later undertook a tour of facilities at the hospital.
