The super eagles of Nigeria would get a whooping 25 thousand dollars from the Delta state government for each goals scored in Saturday’s Nations Cup Qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Johannesburg .
Gov Ifeanyi OKOWA made the decleration while addressing the players and the coaching crew shortly after their evening training session on Tuesday at the Stephen Keshi stadium Asaba.
The second training session of the super eagles for Tuesday closed to the general public was watched by gov Ifeanyi OKOWA,NFF President Amaju Pinnick and a few top government functionaries .
The team focused on general ball possession techniques and blending under the watchful eyes of coach Genort Rhor.
Addressing the players gov Ifeanyi OKOWA urged commitment to the national assignment in South Africa expressing confidence of victory .
The governor assured them of his total support saying the promised cash award represents the desire of the government to see them successful and do the nation proud .
The president of the Nigerian football federation Mr Amaju Pinnick had told the governor that the hospitality enjoyed from the state government so far was a stimulant for the team ahead of Saturday’s show down in South Africa and the November 20 friendly match with the Cranes of Uganda at the Stephen Keshi stadium Asaba.
He announced that the state government has already released the appearance fees for the Ugandan national team just as arrangements have been concluded for their arrival and up keep .
Super eagles coach Genort Rhor and the team’s acting captain Ahmed Musa thanked the gov for the generosity extended to them since their arrival at Asaba and promised to do the nation proud in South Africa to enable celebration when they return.
They expressed their readiness to show commitment and qualify the nation for next year’s Africa cup of nations to be hosted by Cameroon .
