The State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to channel the request of the people of Mosogar in Ethiope West Local Government Area, for the upgrade of the College of Education, Mosogar to a campus of one of the universities in the state to the appropriate government agency for necessary attention.
Governor Okowa stated this last week while presenting staff of office to the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka 1 at the palace ground, Mosogar.
The governor represented by his Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro also promised to look into the appeal of the people for power supply to Mosogar and thanked the people for their support to the state government.
While congratulating the new Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, on his successful ascension to the throne of his forefathers,the governor paid tribute to the late Ovie who he described as an exemplary monarch with proven integrity,tenacity and courage.
He noted that the institution of the Ovie had great significance for the people of Mosogar Kingdom hence should strive to promote the integrity of the stool by bestowing the monarch the respect he deserves.
Governor Okowa called on sons and daughters of Mosogar Kingdom to work together with the Ovie for sustainable peace and progress of the area noting that the respect he gets from outsiders would spring front the one he enjoys at home.
The governor appealed to the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom to discharge all his responsibility by being fair and just being the father of all his subjects as well as uphold the sanctity of the customs and tradition.
Governor Okowa advised the people of Mosogar Kingdom to take advantage of the various policies and programmes of government to improve and add value to their various capacities being predominantly farmers, traders and fishermen.
The Otota of Mosogar Kingdom and Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Chief Ighoyota Amori thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the presentation of staff of office to the Mosogar monarch and drew the attention of the governor that some parts of the town was still in darkness.
He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to revoke and blacklist the contractor and re-award it adding that the contractor used refurbished transformers instead brand new ones.
Chief Amori also appealed to the governor to consider the upgrade the College of Education, Mosogar to a campus of one of the universities in the state in order to resuscitate the moribund institution which is the only College of Education in Delta Central.
The event was attended by top dignitaries including a former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada, former Governor Chief James Ibori, represented by his daughter , Honourable Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori represented by Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu, Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, Chief of Staff, Government House, Honourable Ovie Agas, PDP State Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso and the Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council, Orodje of Okpe and other royal fathers among others.
