The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Samuel Mariere, has urged the Team representing Delta State at the finals of the Basic Education Sport holding at Abuja, the nation’s capital, to be on their best behavior, stay focused, and make the State proud.
Highlighting Governor Oborevwori’s-led administration’s commitment to taking education to the next level in the State, Hon. Mariere expressed optimism about the Team’s chances, citing the thorough training and logistical preparations that have been put in place.
As the State Team departs for Abuja to compete in the National Basic Education Sport Finals, the Board Chairman, Hon. Samuel Mariere wishes them the best of luck.
Ogoma Primary School Ogwashi-Uku, that emerged victorious at the State level, will now be having face off against 28 other schools from across the nation.
Mariere emphasized the Government’s commitment to developing sports from the grassroots level, stating that Delta State will stop at nothing in catching them young. “This initiative aligns with the Oborevwori administration’s vision to take education and sports to the next level.
“Delta State’s vision for education is to provide unfettered access to basic education for all children, ensuring they receive a qualitative, functional, and free education that equips them for purposeful living. With this mission in mind, the Team is poised to make a strong impression at the national finals”.
The Team’s departure to Abuja ceremony was attended by notable officials, including the Permanent Secretary to the Board, Sir Byron Unini, and Director Academic Services, Mrs. Francisca Okpeh.
