The Governorship Candidate of the Democratic People’s Party DPP, Mr Richard Kimeku has marshalled out his development blueprint for the rapid socio economic development of the state with focus on the people and zero tolerance for corruption.
Mr Kimeku who unveiled his programmes and policies for the state at his residence at Agbor while speaking with newsmen said if elected as governor in the March 2 governorship election he will run an administration that will be centred on the people.
He said he decided to run for the office of governor as a divine project that will recover the state and place it on the pedestal it ought to be in terms of infrastructural and economic development.
Mr Kimeku noted that his leadership will develop the people to acquire requisite skills that will enable them harness available resources in local and international environment.
The DPP governorship candidate said he will ensure adequate utilization of the state’s resources by making access to revolving loan facilities available at the three thousand six hundred and twenty five units with a seed capital of ten million naira to enable small business owners borrow to grow their businesses .
While stressing that small scale businesses have the potentials of stimulating the local economy,Mr Kimeku maintained that farmers will be well trained on modern farming techniques with high yield seedlings provided to enable sell their products at the local and international markets.
He said extension services will be strengthened in all parts of the state as subsistence farming will not take them anywhere adding that tractors will be made available for farmers.
He further disclosed that training teachers and artisans will also be a priority while online teaching and learning will be introduced in schools to make student survive in the global competitive markets as the world was presently driven by knowledge based economy.
Mr Kimeku added that he will establish a training institute to nurture and promote talents and skills while graduated will also be trained to make them employable .
The DPP governorship candidate who frowned at the high of corruption in the country said if elected he will run a corrupt free administration as corruption was a crime of opportunity and carried out by those who are uncertain.
He said fighting corruption will be by all as the era of kickbacks and using cronies will be over as there will be a market intelligence data base where all contracts awarded, the amount will be published for all to see adding that his administration will be transparent .
He said the private sector will be brought to build fishing companies along the Burutu Escravos axis where the indigenes will be the shareholders and workers stressing that the state’s coastline can proved three million jobs if properly harnessed.
On the rotational governorship arrangement in the state Mr Kimeku said it is only the people that can decide who will governor them at any point in time and called on Deltans to vote him as governor to enable him translate his agenda into reality.
