Civil Servants in Delta State have been charged to develop a positive mindset towards the effective performance of their duty so as to demonstrate professionalism and promote sound service delivery to the public which they were employed to serve.
Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko gave the charge at the Orientation/Induction seminar organized by the Administrative Officers forum in the Delta State Civil Service.
The Head of Service noted that the Administrative Officers Cadre was one that commands recognition and respect as they were considered as the frontliner in initiating, formulating, implementing, managing and upholding all government policies and programmes,
Mr. Bayoko said that, as the think-tank of government , they were expected at all times to be sound in mind and character by exhibiting professionalism through discipline, obedience, diligence, respect, loyalty to constituted authorities in carryout government functions.
He thanked the Chairman of the forum, Comrade Samuel Dietake and his executives for providing the platform to educate the new officers on the ethics of the Civil Service .
Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and PS SSG, Mr. Austin Oghoro urged the newly inducted officers to learn the rules and regulations guiding the Civil Service and urge them to dedicate their time and talents to the job adding that the best officer will always be known by his commitment, hard work, dedication and passion for the job and charged them to excel in their various offices.
Present at the ceremony were the SSA to the Governor of Civil Service matters, Sir Emma Okafor, Mr Fred Yoro , functioning PS Civil Service Commission, Mrs Felicia Owhofasa functioning PS Establishment & Pensions amongst others.
