In a bid to achieve a cleaner and healthier environment in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta State Waste Management Board (DSWMB) has commenced the maintenance and repair of its fleet of trucks and bulldozers.
The initiative, which is critical to ensuring the efficient performance of waste management operations across the state, is being supervised by the Chairman of the Board, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, along with other dedicated members of the board.
Speaking on the repair efforts, Hon. Edema emphasized the importance of maintaining the waste management equipment to sustain smooth operations and enhance waste collection and disposal processes. He stated, “The proper functioning of our trucks and bulldozers is pivotal to the fulfillment of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to a cleaner Delta State under the M.O.R.E Agenda. We are prioritizing these repairs to ensure consistent service delivery and improved environmental sanitation across all local government areas.”
The board’s focus is on overhauling and maintaining the trucks and bulldozers to meet operational demands, reducing downtime caused by mechanical issues. Hon. Edema highlighted that the repairs are being carried out by qualified technicians to ensure durability and optimal performance of the equipment.
Members of the Waste Management Board have been actively involved in supervising the repairs, underscoring their commitment to delivering on Governor Oborevwori’s vision for a cleaner Delta. According to them, the board aims to not only enhance waste management operations but also to instill confidence in residents that the state government is committed to addressing environmental challenges.
Residents of Delta State have expressed optimism about the impact of this initiative, noting that functional equipment will significantly improve the efficiency of waste collection, particularly in densely populated urban areas.
Hon. Edema further called on citizens to support the government’s efforts by adhering to proper waste disposal practices and cooperating with waste management authorities.
The maintenance and repair drive is a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s resolve to deliver on his promise of sustainable development and environmental protection under the M.O.R.E Agenda. This initiative is expected to improve the overall aesthetics of the state while promoting public health and safety.
