The new and first female Director of Information (DI) in Delta State, Mrs Theresa Adiabua Oliko (JP), has enjoined Information Officers in the state to always see themselves as members of one indivisible family, towards the discharge of the onerous task of informing the public on the policy thrust of the state government.
Mrs Oliko gave the admonition during a brief get-together party she organised in her office for Information Officers in the administrative headquarters of the Ministry of Information in Asaba, the state capital, to mark the beginning of the year 2021.
She said that there was a lot to gain in embracing unity of purpose among any group, adding that the officers should showcase glaring love of one another at all times so as to stand out as shining examples of the need for residents to live peacefully among themselves in the various communities of the state.
The DI maintained that Information Officers as the mouthpiece of the state government should be of good conduct so as to enjoy the goodwill of the public they were to serve, adding that rancour, backbiting, pull-him-down machinations and other unwholesome tendencies should be eschewed, just as she enjoined the staff to put God first in the discharge of their duties.
The DI was highly commended by the elated officers for organising the novel occasion for them in the ministry.
