In a bid to actualise the finishing strong agenda of Senator (Dr. ) Ifeanyi Okowa led administration, the office of Delta state SERVICOM and Labour Relations undertook a monitoring and inspection visit to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state .
Speaking during the commencement of the visits, the Director in the office of SERVICOM and Labour, Mrs. Uche Onwusanya charged SERVICOM line officers to reawaken the SERVICOM activities in the MDAs and Delta state in general.
Mrs. Onwusanya , who is the Head of a four man monitoring committee also urged them to be proactive and activate all the necessary tools needed for an efficient and effective service delivery.
Mrs Onwusanya said that the inspection and monitoring visit to the MDAs was apt, adding that the present administration was in it’s finishing stage and needed to finish strongly , noting that the Governor Okowa led administration started strongly.
She further added that the monitoring visit to the MDAs was important, saying that there was need to meet with the SERVICOM line officers in the various MDAs to be sure that activities of SERVICOM were being carried out in areas where such activities were needed.
The SERVICOM and Labour Relations Director said that there was also a strong need to ascertain the level of compliance to service delivery.
In his separate remarks, Erhiakewe Ejior Rex who is the Desk Officer in the office of the Head of Service thanked the SERVICOM team led by Mrs Onwusanya for the monitoring and inspection visit, noting that for a long time, SERVICOM activities in the state had been on a very low burner just as he attributed it’s low rate to the fact that most of the trained SERVICOM staff ended up being posted out to other Ministries and Departments after acquiring SERVICOM training.
He also suggested the need and importance of training and retraining of SERVICOM line officers in line with modern trends.
For her part, a Director in the office of Directorate of Culture and Toursim, Mrs Efenedu Vera said that the visit was apt and very important, explaining that SERVICOM was presently at zero level and needed to be reawakened at all cost.
She commended the Director of SERVICOM, Mrs Uche Onwusanya and her team for the initiative and pledged to support the gesture .
She also added that SERVICOM charters were not mounted in most of the offices due to the relocation of the offices to the new Secretariat.
