Chief Great Ogboru had a perfect chance of being elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2003 and 2023. Still, he was desperate for the governorship position, knowing full well that he lacked the political structure and arsenal to conquer the Delta state ruling party, the PDP.
There’s no doubt that the popularity of Chief Great Ogboru upon his return from EXILE in the early year 2000 attracted him neutral likeness from Deltans.
The love he couldn’t translate to electoral victory to become governor but through him, so many politicians were able to sail the State and National Assembly.
Between the years 2003 to 2019, Ogboru remains a major political opposition to Delta PDP. At every electoral year, some top politicians defect from the PDP ruling party to party with Ogboru even though he comes a few months before the election and disappears once he loses.
A source has reviewed that the greatest political mistake of Ogboru was to partner with Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to disturb the APC’s chance of taking over Delta State in the last general election. Ogboru who contested for the Delta Governorship under the APGA party was sponsored by PDP.
Chief Ogboru threw out his chance of getting to the Red Chamber without struggle because Okowa loaded him with so much money and promises. Money was paid but the promises were never met.

Of all the politicians in Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa is the most deceitful to keep to his words. Pityably, Gov. Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has stopped taking the calls of Great Ogboru reasons that he added little or electoral value to his 2023 electoral victory.
Today, Chief Great Ogboru is on the move to join APC. The big question is whether he is ready to sacrifice his death governorship ambition for a senatorial position to represent the people of Delta Central come 2027.
Perhaps, We can now start talking about the Abraka Agenda.
