The Delta State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, has commended the professional depth of the Outgoing Commissioner for Police in the state, Inuwa Mohammed Hafiz, who has been promoted to the exalted rank of Assistant Inspector General of the Police in Nigeria.
Comrade Ikeogwu gave the commendation while fielding questions from journalists after the well attended occasion put together by the Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Authority, Honourable (Evangelist) Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, in honour of Inuwa Hafiz at the David’s Centre in Asaba, the state capital.
The labour leader said that the short period he had interacted with the outgoing police boss in the state had afforded him the opportunity to rate the police as friends of Nigerians, adding that the newly promoted AIG, Inuwa Hafiz, had showcased excellent professional carriage throughout his stay as the Commissioner for Police in Delta State.
Comrade Ikeogwu disclosed that the Delta State Police Command under the watch of Inuwa Hafiz was wonderfully in support of the ethical aspirations of journalists in the state, adding that the vacuum he was leaving behind would be difficult to fill, even as he prayed for the new AIG to continue to be recompensed not only for his professionalism and aspirations to genuinely keep Nigeria as an indivisible egalitarian entity, but for the uplifting of humanity.
