The Burutu LGA political elders and leaders of the PDP met at the Canewood Hotel, Warri, Delta State, on Wednesday 12th June, 2024 to confirm and ratify the choice of Chief Mrs. Georgina Evah, as Vice Chairmanship candidate of the party in the Delta State LGA elections of 13th July 2024.
The chief admin. of Delta Ijaw Patriots Forum, a socio – political platform for the Ijaw intelligentsia of Delta state, Elder Grade – one Clark, was present at the occasion to record the proceedings of the august meeting. An event that turned out to be a huge success.
The meeting summoned at the behest of the Burutu PDP Chairmanship candidate/flagbearer for the state LGA elections, Chief Dr. Julius Takeme JP, was presided over by the LGA foremost political leader and elder stateman, the renowned Rt. Hon. Wg Cdr. PY Biakpara rtd, who without lengthy speeches and much ado, set the agenda for the gathering.
Which culminated in a rousing aye – voice chorus in the acceptance of Mrs. Georgina Evah as the right and proper candidate for the vice chairmanship. It was a unanimous and well carried endorsement.
The campaign committee management team was also immediately constituted, and with a marching order to swing into action forthwith. Hon. Ekpotuayeri Pullah was picked as chairman to lead the campaign committee.
In the same vain, several sub committees and ward coordinators and their deputies were also instantly constituted to herald the campaign across the LGA, as time was obviously running out – and with so much work to be done.
All notable elders and leaders of the Burutu PDP converged at the Canewood Hotel to register their presence. And in one accord hailed the choice of Mrs. Evah, who had been a grassroot mobilizer of the PDP, and had in the past been the Delta State PDP Woman Leader. For her past dedication to party affairs, no delegate objected to her nomination.
The meeting paraded a galaxy of Burutu LGA political titans. Those present include: Brig. Gen. Demeyeibo, Chief JT Government, Deacon Funkekeme Solomon, Hon. Julius Pondi, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, Mr. Godknows Angele, Mr. Paul kurugbe, Hon. Dan Yingi others too numerous to over the fingers.
The occasion was indeed a success as everyone present left very happy at the close of the meeting – with a pledge to continuously consult in days ahead – as the countdown to the elections draw closer.
Grade – one Clark
