The Seimbiri Traditional Council of Chiefs in Seimbiri Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area has announced the resumption of social activities following the completion of the three months mourning period declared to mourn HRM Pere Charles Ayemi- Botu JP, OFR, aka Lion of the Niger, Paramount Ruler of Seimbiri Kingdom.
The Acting Spokesman of the Seimbiri Traditional Council of Chiefs, Chief Alexander Ebisine made the announcement at Okpokunou, traditional headquarters of the kingdom during a meeting of the Chiefs,community leaders,clans heads, quarter representatives, youth and women groups.
He said a three month mourning period was declared to mourn HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu JP ,Paramount Ruler of Seimbiri Kingdom which commenced on January 5,2024 and was terminated on April 5,2024.
Chief Ebisine said all social activities that were put on hold such as marriages, burials and other traditional functions can now resume in line with the customs and tradition of Seimbiri Kingdom.
According to him “the mourning period is over, everyone or family can now resume on any social activities that were suspended when the mourning period was declared.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank the good people of the Seimbiri Kingdom particularly the Council of Chiefs, royal family and all stakeholders for their cooperation and support during the mourning period”.
“A date for the final funeral ceremony of our most revered monarch, HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu will be announced in due course by the Council of Chiefs” .
