A one-day Capacity Building Training Workshop for Legal Directors, Zonal Heads and Law Officers in the Department of Legal Drafting in the Ministry of Justice and relevant MDAs in the State will be organized by the Ministry in collaboration with a leading Training Consultant with foreign reach.
According to a Press Release made available to journalists in Asaba by Mrs. Rita Abidemi Ekpemina; Director of the Department of Legal Drafting ,the Workshop will hold at the Conference Hall in Cluster B, second floor of the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat on Wednesday, October 19 beginning from 10am.
The topic for the Workshop is “Understanding Construction Contracts and Drafting the Agreement”.
The statement further invited Officers from the Ministries of Works, Housing, Finance , Energy, the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Directorate of Project Monitoring and the Office of the Accountant General.
It said that the invited MDAs were in way or the other involved in construction matters.
Mrs. Ekpemina explained that the training workshop was intended to improve the capacity of members of staff of the Ministry of Justice particularly the officers in the Department of Legal Drafting.
She stated that not only would the training improve the capacity of the stakeholders, it will improve their knowledge and understanding of construction contracts.
The statement noted that when participants eventually put the knowledge that would be gained from the training into proper use they would save the State a lot of money that could be channeled to other areas for development and further save the state from possible embarrassment from avoidable litigations.
The statement enjoined those invited to take the training seriously by attending promptly.
