The Delta State Head of Service (HoS) Mr. Reginald Bayoko has pledged total support for the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Delta State Chapter.
The HoS made the pledge when he played host to the State Executives led by its State Chairman, Chief Patrick Ukah today in his Office.
Mr. Bayoko, who disclosed that he was a long time member of NIPR, commended Chief Ukah for making himself available for service, for the good of humanity.
“I love and admire the passion you are putting to serve at all time and how you are pursuing the repositioning Public Relations practice in Delta State,” he said.
While thanking Chief Patrick Ukah for reviving the Delta State Chapter of the Institute, Reginald Bayoko chronicled the NIPR from the days when Chief Alex Akinyele was National President and the encouragements he received from.
Earlier, the State Chairman of NIPR, Chief Patrick Ukah said the Executive Committee Members came to solicit the HoS support of the presentation of the Institute to the 41st Meeting of the National Council on Establishment holding in Asaba, Delta State from Monday 4th -8th November, 2019; for the inclusion of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations professional qualifications (NIPR) in the schemes of service both at the federal and state levels.
“Our Institute, NIPR led by Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo, President, will on Thursday 7th November, 2019, present Memorandum to the National Council on Establishment on the proper placement on the scheme of service by the office of the Head of Civil Service of Establishments, of Certified Professionals with NIPR Certification”. Ukah stated.
While commending the HoS for the hosting despite the short notice, the state NIPR Chairman, who is also the Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education noted that over the period the Institute had had some challenges in the State. And that they had been working hard to return to limelight. “Our success is one of the reasons we are hosting the Institute’s forthcoming Induction here in Asaba,” Hon. Ukah added.
Ukah who said it was noteworthy that the HoS was grounded on NIPR, disclosed that the Chapter will be holding her Annual General Meeting (AGM) / PR Week in December, 2019, pointing out that Public Relations was an age long profession that cut across all facets of life.
