A veteran broadcaster and former National President of Auchi Polytechnic Alumni Association (APAA), Comrade Godspower Omadhebor, has endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as the next governor of Delta State.
Omadhebor said Omo-Agege remains the best governorship candidate that has the capacity and antecedents to change the underdevelopment trajectory of the oil-rich state.
The broadcaster, fondly called PG, called on his fans and all Deltans to join him to vote en masse for Omo-Agege, who is the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, in this Saturday March 18 governorship election.
Omadhebor stated this on Thursday in a statement issued in Effurun, Delta State.
He berated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led government’s failure to tackle infrastructural decay and dearth of socioeconomic activities across the State.
Omadhebor, who is also an international media consultant and recently voluntarily retired from Delta State Broadcasting Service, Warri, said the PDP government in the state should be rejected and not allowed to continue their maladministration further.
According to him, “I served Delta state for 20 years via Delta broadcasting service Warri in the capacity of a Radio and television presenter and newscaster, by the scope of my job I intermingled with political leaders professionals and captains of industry as well as the ordinary people that matters most as the conscience of our society.
“I voluntarily retired from the civil service of Delta state, because of the very poor attention, successive government of Delta state has paid to the improvement of government owned media in the state and the miserable life Deltans are facing everyday due to government’s failure to tackle infrastructural decay and dearth of socioeconomic thinking that could lift millions of Deltans out of poverty.
“The arrogance of the political class in the PDP government of Delta state, has been quite appalling and odorous, they are always unmindful of the wellbeing of the ordinary people.
“Despite, wide disenchantment by Deltans against the borrowings of hundreds of billions of naira, our governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership and members of the state house of assembly, keep adamantly and arrogantly plunging the state into deeper pits of unending debts without any visible mega project on ground or in sight.
“The squandering of billions of Delta state monies on Gov. Okowa’s personal Vice presidential bid which was treacherous and very unrealistic in the first instance and as it turned out to be.This act of financial rascality and impunity by successive PDP governments in Delta state has been the bane of progress in the state.
“For the benefit of doubt Delta state resources and monies belong to all of us, nobody, no politician, no group of people, own it more than all of us, thus we deserve accountability and better deployment of our common patrimony.
“The absence of quality and pragmatic leadership and good governance the last 24 years in Delta state has necessitated the clarion call of Deltans from all works of life, for a change of guard in Osadebe house Asaba, and withdrawal of support from the PDP. afterall the PDP has ruled us and ruin us the last 24 years, thus I join my voice to that of millions of Deltans routing for APC and its candidates to take over government democratically from the failed PDP.
“Today, 15th of March 2023, I senior comrade Godspower Omadhebor, finds APC Delta state governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-agege, the Deputy president of the Nigerian senate, fit and suitable to be the governor of Delta state, this time.
“By juxtaposition, Sen. Ovie Omo-agege stands out tall amongst the other candidates of the other political parties in the areas of Academic competence, political and governmental participation and experience, public service records. Political influence and aura.
At this time that Delta state is passing through hell, we don’t need political apprentice or parasitic neophytes to monkey and thinker and experiment with our economy. We cannot survive further mismanagement of our resources. Enough is enough.
“I appeal to senator Ovie Omo-agege and well meaning Deltans to help rebuild Warri city, abandoned by governor Okowa, the last eight years. Revamp ailing industries and bring back night life and entertainment activities that has been killed by obnoxious government policies.
“The promise by Sen. Ovie Omo-agege to reviving the comatose Warri and Koko ports will help create jobs for Deltans.
“What deltans desperately need at this time is an egghead surrounded by technocrats and not a stooge or passersby gathered by lychees, plotting to feast on our resources. We are wiser now, no more padi padi government.
“Please, let’s all come out on Saturday 18th march 2023, to cast our votes for APC’s sen. Ovie Omo-agege, and together build a new Delta.”
