The Labour-Intensive Public Workfare (LIPW) unit under the Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (D-CARES) program visited Obior Community In Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State to carry out end-of-program activities, where beneficiaries praised the state government and the World Bank for this laudable program that brought economic sustainability to them.
Some of them disclosed that the program is a blessing to their people, who can now fend for themselves and contribute to community services for the growth of their people.
A poultry farmer named Steven Okafor said, “I want to say a very big thank you to everyone for this support. It’s through this program that I was able to save money to open my poultry farm. I am grateful for this opportunity. May God bless Governor Sheriff.”
Another beneficiary known as Chioma Okafor expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am grateful to the Delta Cares program. This empowerment has helped me a lot. I was able to save my money to buy a freezer, which I am using to sell drinks in my shop now. May God continue to bless you all, for the program is a blessing to us.”
One Nwabuokei Ikechukwu Ambrose, a farmer, thanked Delta Cares, saying, “I want to use this opportunity to thank Delta Cares for this opportunity. During this program, I was able to pay my children’s school fees and even employ some labourers to assist me with my farm work. I am very grateful to the World Bank and Delta Cares for this opportunity.”
