The Asagba of Asaba Professor Chike Edozien marked his 99th birth anniversary and the 32nd year on the throne.
The ceremony which held at the Asagba palace attracted dignitaries both from far well as sons and daughters of Asaba who came to felicitate and extolled his contributions to the growth of Asaba and for being a role model to many traditional institutions.
The tenure of the Asagba of Asaba who took over the reign of power as the 13th monarch in July 1, 1991 has witnessed infrastructural and developmental change as his reign coincided with the creation of Delta State.
Indeed the, the ascension of the monarch has remained a blessing to the people of Asaba and Delta State.
Some persons including the consultant to the Asagba of Asaba on land matter, Chief Ofili Mordi described the reign of the monarch as one that brought rapid development, modernization of traditional norms and institutions with the preservation of the positive aspects and moderating influence of traditional Values.
Others described Prof. Edozien as a stabilizer whose role in ensuring equity and fairness in the governance of the State was robust and profound and wished him wisdom and good health.
The ceremony featured homage from the various communities that makes up Asaba as well as various groups and body.
