Delta Collective Assembly (DCA), a formidable political organisation that draws its membership from the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State, yesterday inaugurated a 12-Man Committee to assess and streamlined gubernatorial aspirants from Delta Central Senatorial district to the best three.
According to the group’s statement made available to newsmen in Asaba, it’s a Committee of persons ; one each to represent the TEN federal constituencies of Delta state, and a Woman to represent interest of women, to assess the Governorship Aspirants, who are from Delta Central Senatorial District.
The statement noted that the Vision of DCA was a Delta State where governorship transition is based on fair, smooth, and peaceful power rotation among the three senatorial districts. While the Mission was to promote the existing culture of clockwise rotation of governorship position among the three senatorial districts, where everyone will have a sense of belonging, thereby fostering peace and unity in the State.
It says “Having toured round Delta State, visiting and sensitizing stakeholders and the entire State, on the need to maintain and sustain the clockwise rotation of governorship among the 3 senatorial districts, a view which now enjoys wide acceptance, Delta Collective Assembly(DCA) being now convinced that 2023 governorship is the turn of Delta Central, hereby goes further to initiate a process to assess Delta Central Governorship Aspirants, with a view to selecting a credible and an eligible Aspirant to be adopted and supported”.
In it’s terms of reference, the Committee was charged to assess all the known gubernatorial aspirants from Delta Central Senatorial District, score them on the basis of criteria and recommend three to DCA
The statement also stated that the Assessment Committee was prohibited from contacting or meeting in anyway with any of the aspirants during the period of the assignment
Educational qualification, aspirants belief in the rotation principle, cognate/relevant experience, proven integrity, accessibility, Political Structure in the 25 LGA, Projected Personal Financial Capacity/ Reputation to Attract Funds, Public perception of Morals among others were the criteria given to the newly inaugurated Committee for assessment gubernatorial aspirants from Delta Central Senatorial District for Delta 2023.
Those elected alongside Chief Alfred Onyenwosa who is to serve as Chairman, while Pastor Francis Oghenetaga serves as Secretary of the DCA Assessment Committee are:

4) *Hon Chris Osadebey* – _Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency_
5) *Hon SDI Okata* – _Isoko north and south federal constituency_
6) *Chief Alfred Onyenwosa* – _Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal_ _constituency_
7) *Hon Bribebe Napoleon* – _Bomadi/Patani federal constituency_
8) *Hon Chief Blakes Aku Patrick* – _Burutu federal constituency_
9) *Hon Chris Ihianuta* – _Ika Federal constituency_
10) *Hon. Morrison Omagbemi* – _Warri federal_ _constituency_
11) *Maureen Uguna* – Representing Women
12) *Hon Susan Okiemute* – Alternate member Representing Women.
In his acceptance speech, the Committee Chairman, Chief Alfred Onyenwosa, who appreciated the Leadership and members of DCA for finding them worthy to be given the critical and strategic assignment for the Assembly.
He said by the ‘Terms of Reference, template, criteria’ to be assessed, the scoring range, and the list of Aspirants provided, their duty, though delicate, had been made simple and scientific.
“Accordingly, I, on behalf of members of the Delta Collective Assembly(DCA) Committee on assessment of 2023 Delta State Gubernatorial Aspirants from Delta Central senatorial district, do hereby accept to serve.
“We also wish to appeal to the Leadership and all members of DCA to give us the assistance, cooperation, and support needed for us to accomplish this task, and with the expected speed”. Onyenwosa stated.
