Delta State Association of Chambers of Commerce, lndustry, Mines and Agriculture, (DACCIMA), has vowed to synergize and collaborate with the sector agencies to enable
it have a formidable force to provide a united and solid representation for the private sector within the state.
President, DACCIMA, Engr Anthony Okoh, stated in Asaba during the 12th association’s AGM/Investiture Ceremony 2025 with the theme, “Driving Excellence Through Collaboration And Innovation: A Pathway For Sustainable growth”
He said the association would have a lot to do in deepening its collaboration with the state government with a view to translating the fragile relationship to a more robust one
While commending the state government policy in supporting MSMEs, particularly the recent approval of #1 billion revolving fund by the state government to support MSMEs through the Bank of Industry, he said it would stimulate economic development by making funds available to small business owners.
According to him, the type of intervention loan program with a single digit interest rate will go a long way to increase and promote entrepreneurship and generate employment.
“The need to restore trust and form a cordial relationship with the government remains a priority to thie present administration. Today the association has grown to become a loud voice for the private sector in the state, a priceless partner to government and other stakeholders within the business ecosystem” he said
Earlier, Dr Anthony ldigbe, immediate past DACCIMA President, said his tenure successfully deactivated the association bank account with a new flexible mandate system and that it became a company limited by guarantee and duly registered with Corporate Affairs Commission, (CAC).
While urging the new Ecco to build on their success by ensuring that all social media handles based on private accounts are discontinued in favour of official handles, he said it established official website and email addresses, organized various trainings and webinars to improve members businesses and inform members about the budget and economic policy of the state and federal governments.
“We desired to have an Arbitration Center in Delta state to serve the entire southern states, where businessmen and women can resolve their business differences outside the regular court procedures and still have their decisions accepted within the ambits of the law”
The immediate past President however regretted that the MOUs signed with reputable firms to partner to organize a Trade Fair in Osubi grounds were unsuccessful due to land challenges, he however called the state government to issue DACCINA the trade fair land title documents and land to build an exhibition center within the capital territory while maintaining the trade fair ground in Osubi.
Highlight of the ceremony was the election of new DACCIMA Executives 2024-2026 with Chief (Engr) Anthony Okoh, President, Rev. Lucky Otegheri, 1st Deputy President, Engr. Davidson Uvietowhado, 2nd Deputy President, Vice President (Elected president of ASACCIMA).
