Coriftech Solutions, a renowned technology hub in Asaba devoted to building the next tech talents in Africa, has launched its Design Academy to expand opportunities for women, youth and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) while empowering youths for prosperity.
The initiative which aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets to revolutionize the fields of design and prepare the youths for the projected digitization of industries.
At the launch of the initiative in Asaba, Delta State Capital, the founder of Coriftech Solutions tech hub, Cynthia Orife, the Design Academy would equip students with a holistic toolkit for personal and professional success, enabling them to navigate the complexities of the modern workforce, contribute to the global design ecosystem, and ultimately, emerge as catalysts for positive change.
According to her, ‘’In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, the demand for skilled designers is skyrocketing. According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2020, the employment outlook for designers ranks among the top 20 emerging professions globally.
‘’Design plays a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences, driving innovation, and propelling economic growth. A well-designed product or service can significantly impact consumer satisfaction, brand loyalty, and ultimately, revenue generation. Moreover, design thinking has proven instrumental in addressing complex societal challenges, from healthcare to urban planning.
‘’Looking ahead, the demand for designers is projected to soar, fueled by the rapid digitalization of industries and the growing emphasis on user-centric experiences. According to the World Design Organization, the global design industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5 per cent between 2022 and 2027, reaching a staggering $258 billion by 2027.

Orife, who is also the convener of Women in Tech Summit, Delta State, added ‘’We envision our graduates as ambassadors of creativity, propelling Delta State’s emergence as a recognized leader in the tech industry, attracting investments, fostering economic growth, and inspiring a new generation of innovators.
‘’Furthermore, our academy recognizes the rapidly evolving nature of the global job market, particularly in the realm of remote work and gig economies. As such, we equip our students with the necessary skills and strategies to navigate this dynamic landscape, enabling them to explore a plethora of opportunities beyond geographical boundaries.
