Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro has charged cooperate Organizations in the State to emulate the cooperate social responsibility of American Society Of Safety Professional (ASSP), established Occupational Safety and Health Electronics Library, situated in the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Warri.
Otuaro made the charge at the official commissioning of the E-Library, on Saturday, 19 June, 2021, in Warri.
While saying the E-Library will serve as a cherritable asset to the State, Otuaro, who thanked the ASSP for the project, said the State Government will take note of the request for the completion of the remaining thirty percent and get back to the Nigerian Chapter of ASSP
“I am honored and excited to be part of this epoch making ceremony of the official commissioning of E-Library in the State.
He commended the outgoing President of the Nigeria Chapter of ASSP, Irefo for developing the tall dream and executing the E-library project in PTI, Effurun, Delta State.
Earlier, the President of the 2020 – 2021 Executives of the Nigerian Chapter of ASSP, Mrs. Mercy Omoifo Irefo, said the Society members were hosting to cloud to enable members, students, and affiliates to access from anywhere in the world as long as they are internet compliant.
She said the establishment of the E-Library was to promote academic excellence and impact knowledge between International Occupational Safety Health (IOSH) Professionals, staff and students within and outreached locations any time and from any location to gain access to resource materials that can add value, aid research, impact knowledge and promote seamless search for informative resources of value.
Irefo disclosed that, “to achieve the purpose of closing knowledge gap, the Society used risk-based approaches to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries and illness hence they need a platform where they can always access free of charge to aid and promote their working practice following best practice guidance.
