The Proprietor of Chosen Stars International Academy, Ambassador Albert Kachikwu has commended the state government for encouraging sporting activities in the schools across the state through Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
Kachikwu made the commendation at the 3rd Annual Inter-House Athletics Competition of the school, in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Goverment Area.
Kachikwu who spoke through the Principal of the school, Mr. Austin Ubaka, maintained that Athletics in the school system enables the latent potentials of the child to be discovered and harnessed.
While saying that the importance of sports in the education of the child cannot be over emphasized, Kachikwu pointed out that sports afford the child among other things the opportunity to discover who he or she could be.
He noted that sports could make a child to be an achiever even when he or she might not be making it academically as well help parents to appreciate the capability of their wards.
Kachikwu who appreciated everyone that graced the occasion as well contributed to the success of the sports fiesta said the school has performed creditably well in academics as well as sports.
The sports fiesta witnessed five houses competiting for Laurels. The White House came out 1st position with 186.5 points Blue House clinched the second position with 157.5 point, Yellow House settled at third position with 157 points while Green House and Red House came out fourth and fifth positions with 151 and 98 points respectively.
