Chief Anthony Ofoni, a Delta State PDP stewart and grassroot political mobilizer in Uvwie local goverment has expressed condolence to the good people of Agbarho kingdom and the Obada family in Ughelli North council area, over the death of their illustrious son, Major General Orho Obada (rtd).
Chief Ofoni while signing the condolence register during a visit to the Obada family at Agbarho, discribed Late Gen. (rtd) Obada as a renowed community leader who believes in the frontiers of uniting the Urhobo nation, promoting community development and the security of the Urhobo people.
He noted that the wealth of experience of Major-General Obada (rtrd), a former Federal Commissioner for Works, cannot be over emphasised in the history of nation building.
Chief Ofoni in his condolence message prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. He added that, Gen. Obada who until his death, was the Chairman, Board of Trustee of the apex socio-cultural body of the Urhobo people, UPU, will be greatly remembered for his leadership disposition in projecting the course of the Urhobo nation.
Obada who hailed from Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North council area, reportedly died Saturday night, after a brief undisclosed ailment. The retired military officer was reported to have fallen sick early last week.
