The Delta State Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro has described the death of the Bolowei of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North, Chief Emmanuel Ebimami as a big loss to his kingdom and the ijaw nation at large.
Deacon Otuaro stated this when he led a state government delegation on a condolence visit to the Ebimami family at his Enerhen residence in Uvwie Local Government.
The Deputy Governor who was accompanied by some top government functionaries on behalf of the state government consoled with the family on the death of Chief Emmanuel Ebimami saying that he was a father, mentor and symbol of development.
While recalling his early contact with the deceased, Deacon Otuaro noted that Governor Okowa receives the news of the death of Chief Emmanuel Ebimami with rude shock.
He said he had followed the leadership exploits of the deceased stressing that critical decisions affecting ijaw nation had been taken at his residence.
The Deputy Governor enjoined the children and family members of Chief Emmanuel Ebimami to uphold the legacies of their father and as that would be a good way to remember him saying that the state government should be put in the know on the funeral rites of the deceased.
Deacon Otuaro said his valuable contributions to peace building and development of ijaw nation would not be forgotten in a hurry.
Responding on behalf of the family, Chief Matthew Tiemo, the tonkepa of Egbema Kingdom thanked the state government delegation led by the Deputy Governor,Deacon Kingsley Otuaro for the condolence visit saying it was a show of love
Chief Tiemo flanked by the first son of the deceased, Mr Ebiye Ebimami disclosed that the funeral rites of Chief Emmanuel Ebimami will hold from May 21 to 24,2020.
The Deputy Governor later signed the condolence register.
Late Chief Emmanuel Ebimami,a notable ijaw leader was a former Commissioner representing South South region on the board of the Federal Character Commission, Abuja during former President Goodluck Jonathan.
