Grassroot mobilizer and frontline politician in Uvwie, Chief Anthony Ofoni, has described the death of Chief (Sir) Tom Amioku, as a big blow and loss to the Okpe people as well as PDP family in Delta State. He noted that, the PDP family as well as Deltans has lost a gentle politician and a humble leader.
Chief Ofoni while expressing his condolence to the wife and members of the Amioku’s family, said, the death of Chief Amioku on Saturday, June 13, 2020 was received with shock and it was heart breaking.
He noted that, Chief Amioku was a front-line politician and leader who was a member of Chief James Onanefe Ibori Transition Committee in 1999 before he was subsequently appointed as Civil Commissioner in the administration of Chief James Onanefe Ibori led administration firstly from 1999-2003 and again from 2003 to 2007. He asserted that Chief Amioku was a committed and humble party leader throughout his life time.
According to him; “Chief Amioku’s death is devastating to us in Delta State, we are heart broken and so pained at the moment because a very gentle politician and a soft spoken leader from the great Okpe Kingdom, a leader whose wealth of experience cuts across the three senatorial districts in Delta State, a detribalized leader in the political enclave of Delta State has passed on at a very critical time”., Chief Ofoni Stated.
