The 11yr old interregnum that bedeviled the Ogbolubiri Mein kingdom in Burutu local government area of delta state officially ended on December 6, 2019, with the presentation of the government symbol of authority ,otherwise known as Staff of Office to Pere Johnbull Plokowei Ongolo The 1st as the new Pere of Ogbolubiri Mein kingdom.
Performing the ceremony at agbodobiri community ,traditional headquarters of the kingdom,Deputy Gov Kingsley Otuaro who stood in for gov Ifeanyi okowa while congratulating the Ogbolubiri people for putting the past behind them asked that they accord the new traditional ruler the respect and honor deserving of the throne of their forefathers .
Gov. Okowa who also sued for peace and harmony amongst them charged the traditional ruler to always employ dialogue in resolving issues within the kingdom .
He also pointed out that as the custodian of the custom and tradition of his people he must be fair and just in dealing with them,leaving no one in doubt of his integrity.
The Gov also advised that they take advantage of the various government empowerment programs to improve their lots especially in fishing which was their specialty ,promising attention to their requests for more social amenities .
The traditional spokesman of the kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Angbaduba while conveying the appreciations of the Ogbolubiri people to the government,however underlined their desire for educational ,health, and road infrastructure .
Chairman of Burutu local government Mr God knows Angele and the president general of agbodobiri community ,Barrister David Akele in separate interviews told newsmen that they were excited by the ceremony because it marks a new dawn in the affairs of the kingdom saying it was a symbol of the return of peace and harmony as well as governments recognition for them.
Chief David Soware and Chief Juliet Shaguolo for their parts described the new royal father as a man of honor and a very respectful man saying they were convinced he would lead the people aright.
