Delta State Head of Service (HoS), Sir Reginald Bayoko, has called for increased media engagement and participation in governance so as to put the people on the know of government activities and policies.
The Delta HoS made the assertion while commemorating Bridge Radio 98.7fm’s 7th anniversary, yesterday in Asaba.
Bayoko lauded the station’s role in promoting qualitative and inclusive governance through its programs and objective reporting.
While noting that Message-Wise Limited, owners of BridgeRadio 98.7FM was celebrating the 7th anniversary of its broadcast station with honor and pride of place intact, he added that “The Asaba ace broadcast station is celebrating 7 years of outstanding Journalism and nurturing world-class journalists and on-air personalities.
“The 7th anniversary marks a significant milestone in the station’s legacy of cultivating talents in broadcasting and journalism, quality news delivery, content, and programs that we all can testify to.
Joining the celebration, Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Asaba, Right Reverend Kingsley Obuh prayed for Bridge Radio to continue making a positive impact and fostering change. He also acknowledged the station’s reliability as a source of information.
Also commending Bridge Radio for its outstanding performance in broadcasting, a fan of FM station through a congratulatory message noted that “Bridge Radio organization has a strong focus on showcasing the continent in business, politics, technology, commerce, science, sports, show business, and fashion while projecting listenership of the best of Africa and the people through the airwaves by connecting many voices.”
Listeners also sent congratulatory messages, celebrating the station’s milestone.
The highlight of the event was a pomp and pageantry Cutting of BridgeRadio 7th Anniversary Cake by the Delta State Head of Service, Sir Reginald Bayoko.
